Children's Ministry

Spring kids

Children are important at Ivy Creek Church because they are important to our Lord Jesus.  Christ welcomed children in the midst of His ministry, encouraging us to welcome and receive them ourselves.  We consider it a privilege to come alongside parents in the discipleship of their children.  Our aim is to give them the truth of the gospel while connecting them to the Church through Biblical instruction and meaningful relationships.  We want them to clearly see their need for God’s saving grace and find true satisfaction in knowing, loving, and following their Savior.  We do this primarily through our Sunday school and Children's Worship programs, but also at special events throughout the year.

Our aim is to give them the truth of the gospel while connecting them to the Church through Biblical instruction and meaningful relationships.

During the 8:30 a.m. Sunday service, there is a nursery for infants through age 3.  At 10 a.m., we offer Sunday School classes for ages 2 (by Sept 1) through 5th grade.  For the 11 a.m. service, there is again a nursery for infants through age 3.

During our 11 a.m. service, children ages 4 & 5 are dismissed before the sermon for Children's Worship, a specially designed program to help train them for worship. Children in first grade and older attend worship with their parents.  While this may present challenges, we believe there are benefits for our children in attending worship.  They will not understand all they see and hear, but in the bits and pieces they gather they are learning about the Christian faith.  For example, they learn how to pray and praise as they watch us; they recognize the importance of God’s Word as they see us give attention to it; they see pictures of God's grace in baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

At Ivy Creek, your children will be well cared for and receive age appropriate Biblical instruction.  Our prayer is that you and your children will see, hear and experience the grace of God as you are with us. If you have any questions, please contact Kristi Cain, Director of Children's Ministry, here.
